{"id":1279,"date":"2010-10-12T16:46:47","date_gmt":"2010-10-12T11:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/JitendraZaa.com\/blog\/?p=1279"},"modified":"2010-10-12T16:46:47","modified_gmt":"2010-10-12T11:16:47","slug":"create-and-manage-assignment-rules-in-salesforce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jitendrazaa.com\/blog\/salesforce\/create-and-manage-assignment-rules-in-salesforce\/","title":{"rendered":"Create and manage Assignment rules in Salesforce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Assignment rules are used to automate your <strong>organization&#8217;s lead generation<\/strong> and<strong> support processes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lead Assignment Rules<\/strong> &#8211; Specify how leads are assigned to users or queues as they are created manually, captured from the web, or imported via the lead import wizards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Case Assignment Rules<\/strong> &#8211; Determine how cases are assigned to users or put into queues as they are created manually, using Web-to-Case, Email-to-Case,\u00a0On-Demand Email-to-Case, the\u00a0Self-Service\u00a0portal, the\u00a0Customer Portal, Outlook, or Lotus Notes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aim : <strong>All the cases created by user &#8216;jZaa&#8217; should be assigned to &#8216;Jitendra Yahoo&#8217;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To create this Assignment rule, go to<strong> Setup | App Setup | Cases | Assignment Rules <\/strong>and on right hand side click on New.<\/p>\n<p>In first step, give the assignment rule name, lets say name is &#8216;to jitendra Yahoo&#8217;. You may have noted the check box which says &#8220;<strong>Set this as the active case assignment rule<\/strong>&#8221; click on this.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After creating rule, click on that rule and click on New.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1285\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1285\" style=\"width: 520px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jitendrazaa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Rule-Entry-for-the-Case-Assignment-in-Salesforce.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1285  \" title=\"Rule Entry for the Case Assignment in Salesforce\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jitendrazaa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Rule-Entry-for-the-Case-Assignment-in-Salesforce.jpg?resize=520%2C298&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Rule Entry for the Case Assignment in Salesforce\" width=\"520\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1285\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rule Entry for the Case Assignment in Salesforce<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As you can see in above screen shot, at step 1 enter the order in which this rule should be run, as there may be multiple rules in assignment.<\/p>\n<p>in step 2 we can choose criteria or formula. here i have choose the option to create formula.<\/p>\n<p>In step 3, i have written the formula that if user alias is &#8216;JZaa&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>In step 4, i have assigned the case to user &#8220;Jitendra Yahoo&#8221;
