Based on the Eclipse platform and built on the Tooling API, the Force.com IDE provides a comfortable environment for programmers familiar with integrated development environments, letting you code, compile, test, package, and deploy all from within the IDE. Much of the actual work, such as compilation, happens on the Force.com platform\u2014the Force.com IDE performs the communication and result parsing transparently.<br \/>\nThe Force.com IDE is open-source and you can download the source code on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/forcedotcom\/idecore\">GitHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 473px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jitendrazaa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Eclipse-Kepler.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jitendrazaa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Eclipse-Kepler.jpg?resize=473%2C323&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Force.com IDE\" width=\"473\" height=\"323\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Force.com IDE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sometimes I use Force.com IDE only for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/codescan.villagechief.com\/eclipse\/\">ApexPMD <\/a>plugin, which analyse Apex code and provides some area where code can be improved like SOQL written in loop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/jitendra.zaa.jenkins.Deploy@gmail.com\">Welkin Suite IDE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you are coming from .Net background or love Visual studio then this is IDE of your choice. This is Visual Studio based IDE with lots of cool features like local history, intuitive interface, Visual Studio look and feel many more goodies. This is also opensource and very powerful IDE.
